Forrópera: Music for All
Forrópera is a project co-created by North American vocalist/composer Chrystal E. Williams and Brazilian accordionist/composer Felipe Hostins as a way to foster unity, peace, and understanding through their musical marriage.
Performance Programs
Combining elements of Brazilian folk music and classical opera, the husband/wife duo began their musical marriage in 2016; bringing world class performances to both stages and classrooms, alike. They have created unique, flexible programs that encourage audiences to explore and experience music in new and exciting ways. A combination of forró (meaning “for all”) and opera (meaning “work”), Forrópera’s mission is to create and share works of art that are truly for all. So, step into the land of Forrópera and enjoy; a land where dancing, clapping, and joy are not only welcomed but encouraged!
For Orchestras & Opera COmpanies
Forrópera’s AROUND THE WORLD is an innovative program that includes well-known favorites such as Bizet’s Carmen and works by forró master Dominguinhos to original creations such as Hostins’ Meu Brasil de Cristal (Chrystal) and their Reflexão.

Featured works include excerpts from Bizet’s Carmen, Sumertime from Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess, as well as excerpts from Braga’s Cinco Canções Nordestinas do
